December 14 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art (K. Marx St., 23) will open the anniversary exhibition of the Irkutsk artist Tatyana Laryova. The exhibition is closely intertwined art and art history, local history and scenography. Scrupulous adherence to historical documents coexists with the realities of today, as well as with the fantastical fabulous works of the author.
The name of Tatyana Laryova - an artist, teacher, art critic - is well known to lovers of fine art in Irkutsk and beyond. At the exhibition dedicated to the anniversary of the author, all directions in which Tatyana Lareva has been actively working in recent years will be presented. Spectators will meet with already familiar works, as well as with completely new paintings that will be presented for the first time to the audience.
A significant part of the exposition is devoted to the genre of thematic paintings, in which the artist has been working for a long time and even outlined several cycles: “Irkutsk historical”, “Weekdays and holidays of the Irkutsk province”, “Shadows of the big city”, “Time of Troubles”. The central place at the exhibition will be occupied by the large-scale canvas “Meeting of the Tsarevich in Irkutsk in 1891”. It presents Nicholas II, surrounded by his close associates and over thirty portraits of Irkutsk citizens of that time: merchants, gold miners, representatives of the clergy and government, people from the people.
The artist pays close attention to portraits of contemporaries. Among them - the gallery of actors of the Musical Theater. N.M. Zagursky Theater of Young Spectators. A. Vampilova. At the exhibition, you can see several family portraits and familiar faces of Irkutsk citizens. New Year’s performances and entreprise for the Youth Theater, designed by Tatyana Lareva, became a bright holiday for children and youth: Twelve Months, Stone Flower, Miracles in the New Year Forest, Secrets of an Ice Castle. Elements of these performances are also reflected in the exposition.
