From September 18 to November 10 in the space of ABRAMOVA GALLERY in ARTPLAY SPb there will be a personal exhibition of Evgenia Buravleva “Far from everyday life”.
In a project specially prepared for ABRAMOVA GALLERY, Evgenia Buravleva addresses the concepts of space, time and light. Using the techniques of classical painting, the artist builds a new relationship between the space of the picture and the viewer. The viewer becomes the hero of the project and is located inside it. Space and time are connected with the hero and depend on his actions. The concept of light cannot be separated from the concepts of time and space. Light has a temporal extent, the speed of light is strictly calculated. The spatial component of light is expressed in the fact that light and the world are combined in the expression "from all over the world", where the world appears as immense as light. Space begins to exist when light shines on it.
The subtle balance of these three concepts can be fixed in the standby mode, which is so rare and valuable for the restless modernity, and makes it possible to plunge into the "here and now" state, leaving everyday life outside the image. Everyday life transforms the state of lostness in the world, but is rather the spirit of the place, its genius. Stable, unquestioned foundations of common sense cause a desire to go beyond the artificially created limits of the locus. The artist presents the ideal landscape, space beyond control and the ability to speak the language of silence to the viewer in a new series of canvases and drawings.
Evgenia Buravleva was born in Kirov (Russia). She graduated from the Vyatka Art College. A. A. Rylov and the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V. I. Surikov (workshop of P. F. Nikonov). She was awarded the medal of the Russian Academy of Arts. Trained at the University of the Arts in Berlin. Member of the Moscow Union of Artists. A regular participant in international exhibitions of contemporary art, including COSMOSCOW FAIR. The works are in private collections in Russia and other countries, as well as in collections of the Russian Cultural Foundation, the Moscow Union of Artists, the Ark Gallery and Russian regional art museums.
