The exhibition included graphic and painting works. Their representation is uneven, and despite the fact that the artist graduated from the monumental workshop of the I. E. Repin Academy of Arts, he is more attracted to graphic execution.
If art can be defined as reality, refracted through someone’s temperament, then this definition is most suitable for the work of Andrei Andreevich Bliok. This exhibition is a direct confirmation of this.
Reality is a physical, material phenomenon; artistic alchemy requires a lyrical temperament. There is no need to prove that A. A. Bliok fully masters the magic of the artist: more than 80 works of the author - each like a poem - speak for themselves. The exhibition of the artist A. A. Bliok is a lyrical narrative about how he sees the world, what he sees in it, what he brings from himself. Brings a subtle sensitivity of the soul, and this emulsion is more sensitive than the gelatin layer of photographic film.
The exhibition included graphic and painting works. Their representation is uneven, and despite the fact that the artist graduated from the monumental workshop of the I. E. Repin Academy of Arts, he is more attracted to graphic execution. For A. A. Bliok, graphics revealed many wonderful and completely original creative possibilities, and for us, for the audience, it allows us to penetrate into the intimate world of the artist’s thoughts and his art. She is a kind of recognition. Just as handwriting can reveal to the gaze of the initiate some secrets of the character of the writer, in the same way a drawing, often more clearly than a slowly ripening large canvas, indicates the deep tendencies of the master. Indeed, what could be more revealing than a lively, quick, spontaneous drawing.
In the works of A. A. Bliok, the echo of the traditions of world art creates a deep and expressive overall sound. One can recall Japanese graphics, Buddhist scrolls, Gothic stained glass with their idea of dematerialization of the wall surface, the “severe style” with its laconicism and sharpness of forms, pointillists and Klimt, who combines picturesqueness and decorativeness; in some works there is an obvious reminiscence of plasticity, and the desire for grace characteristic of Art Nouveau lines… But these are only echoes that enrich the artist’s own style, his recognizable style. In the best things, the internal energy of the form conveys the author’s sense of the living emotionality of the image. With their color scheme, genre affiliation, and emotional sound, his works remind us that the admiration of beauty and the search for answers to eternal questions do not stop with the change of eras, but acquire a special plastic sound in which tradition, meeting modernity, reveals the inner world of the artist.
Space and light, the movement of light in space, the expression of this movement through line and color - this is the basis of the artist’s plastic solutions, and the compositional freedom of the works testifies to high skill. He combines in his compositions different points of view, unique cross-sections of perception of fragments of the world. Accordingly, the diversity of geography of works (Russia, Central and Central Asia, China, Italy, France) in the exhibition does not cause a feeling of fragmentation and inconsistency. On the contrary, they create a feeling of the whole, consonance, and involvement of one another.
The world in the complexity and diversity of its connections with man is an integral part of his works, which testifies to the artist’s keen interest in reality, revealing in the most ordinary pictures of life a certain new impulse, finding the surprising in the ordinary and revealing, according to Baudelaire’s wishes, each time a new poetry of modernity. For those who like to comprehend the meaning and charm of the masterpieces that delight them, the works of A. A. Bliok will be of particular interest. It will be possible to see and comprehend until May 29 in Gallery “C” of the Museum of Contemporary Art ARTMUZA.
