March 1 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art will open the personal exhibition of Alexander Moskvitin "Road beyond the horizon", dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the author. The large-scale exposition, which occupies two floors of the gallery, presents a series of works on the themes of Siberian nature, life and life of indigenous peoples.
The exhibition of Alexander Moskvitin includes about 50 large-format works from the museum’s collection and private collections. Here you can see metaphorical canvases, as well as a series of portraits that capture images of people close to the artist. The painter travels a lot - a variety of landscapes and ethnic types inspire him to create picturesque compositions.
“In the space of“ Roads beyond the horizon ”, the“ cosmological ”cycle of works, created on the basis of the artist’s characteristic method of contemplating raw, natural material with subsequent reconstruction of impressions and associations, has the semantic meaning. Lined from some primary blocks of matter, majestic cliffs in their nakedness or mountainous landscapes overgrown with wild forest, through which their primeval geological framework is guessed¸ they act as custodians of memory: universal and personalized, artist-friends facing their ancestors and early friends, ” says curator of the exhibition, art critic Tamara Dranitsa talks about the artist’s work.
The exhibition will open on March 1 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art (K. Marx St., 23) and will run until the end of the month. Entrance to the opening is free.
