The exhibition presents about 90 color and black and white works that make up the 70-year career of the master. He became interested in photography as a child and has not parted with the camera since then. Boris Dmitriev is rightly called a classic of Siberian photo art. Member of the Union of Photographers of Russia, he was awarded the prize of the Governor of the Irkutsk Region for his many years of contribution to the development of the culture of the region.
For several decades he has been creating his unique photo epic dedicated to nature, man and the history of Siberia. The main theme of the artist is the nature of Siberia (Lake Baikal, Sayan, Olkhon, Shumak, Arshan) and old Irkutsk, as well as the nature of different countries: USA, France, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China… Places visited by Boris Vasilyevich become paintings that transfer viewer to another world. They help to see the familiar in unexpected light and affirm nature as a source of special solemn beauty.
Boris Dmitriev is also known as a magnificent portrait painter, whose work is distinguished by a deep psychologism. In the collection of the master are portraits of artists, writers and poets. One of the cycles is dedicated to Valentin Rasputin. On the account of Boris Dmitriev numerous exhibitions in Russia and abroad.
