Public art project "Patchwork" Automatic translate
Exhibition halls in Moscow, the Moscow Center for Museum Development invite you to the Warsaw Gallery Workshop to open the public art project Patchwork, dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the first manned space flight.
On Tuesday, June 7, at 12.00, Varshavka Gallery-Workshop begins installation of the patchwork mosaic panel. Participants - mosaic artists and residents of the Nagorny district of Moscow - worked on its creation for several months. The result of their work can be seen in the arch of a residential building on the Warsaw highway.
It is important to say that this is not the first public art project implemented by the gallery workshop. A year ago, artists from Russia and Italy presented the “Mosaic Music” panel, which still adorns the house at 72 Varshavskoye Shosse, building 2.
Installation of the new mosaic panel “Patchwork” will begin on June 7 at 12.00 in the arch of the house number 68, building 1 along the Warsaw highway. The curators and artists of the project will work together side by side with the residents of the district and will be happy to answer all questions of guests and everyone interested in public art in general and on mosaic as a form of contemporary art in particular.
Mosaic - one of the most expensive and requiring special skill techniques. Modern mosaicists use in their work not only traditional smalt, but also natural stone, metal, glass and various innovative materials. The curators of the Patchwork project Marat Nasibullov and Isabella Borisova are also the creators of the Elementary Mosaic studio, based in the Varshavka Gallery Workshop, and participants in numerous exhibitions both in Russia and in other countries.
