November 28 in the shop of the Red Winery opened a group exhibition Opvs Modernvm , which is a dialogue between academic and contemporary art. Its organizers are the Moscow Academic Art School (MAHU) and the WINZAVOD Center for Contemporary Art.

The concept of the project at the opening was very accurately described by Andrei Khreschaty, head of the sculpture department of the Moscow Art Theater: “In our country, due to the peculiarities of the development of artistic processes, there are two types of art at the same time - academic and contemporary. But, in fact, art is one thing. Our exhibition is a way to convey this idea to both young artists and every visitor to the exhibition. ”

The Opvs Modernvm exhibition was the result of MAHU students’ summer practice in Italy with the participation of START graduates. Young authors worked under the guidance of masters - artist Kirill Preobrazhensky, photographer Mikhail Rozanov and director Eduard Boyakov. Following ten days spent in Tuscany, architectural photographs of Italy and a film in the style of commedia dell’arte all’improviso were made, which are presented at the exhibition. Over the exposition, which includes more than 100 photographs, the curators of the project and the director of the Vinzavod Foundation for the Support of Contemporary Art Lina Krasnyanskaya worked.

Among the guests at the opening of the exhibition were artist Aidan Salakhova, artist Alexandra Vertinskaya, founder of the Triumph gallery Emelyan Zakharov, founder and director of the Visual Arts School Natalia Udartseva, director of the Baza Institute Svetlana Baskova, artists Dmitry Venkov, Proteus Temen, Alexander Plyusnin and others.

The exhibition runs until January 8, 2017.
