On the portal of the Association "Exhibition Halls of Moscow" (https://online.vzmoscow.ru/black-on-white) the online project of the gallery "Belyaevo" "Black on White" has opened - an online exhibition of works by contemporary artist Ivan Simonov, who works in collage technique.

The online project "Black on White" unites two independent exhibitions of the artist Ivan Simonov: "Objects / Objects" and "Comparisons" - logically connected with each other in expressive form.

Removing all unnecessary and leaving only one word and one object on a white canvas, the artist maximally focuses the viewer’s attention on the problems and issues that fill our lives. Thus, insignificant small objects from the everyday life of the author become the semantic center of works, "deliberately fragile and simple materials help in creating the effect of man-made art and accessibility of art, and the use of the text allows you to briefly and clearly state the main idea."

In the project "Objects / Objects", through text and images, the artist reassigns objects taken from his life and makes sacred objects out of them. As a result of this transformation, everyday objects become "a starting point in understanding everyday life and what it is filled with." Rising above their everyday purpose and overcoming it, they become objects of art. Continuing to develop the form, the artist creates large canvases reflecting global phenomena that have an impact on people’s lives, and combines them in the project "Comparisons".

Some of the works of the online project are accompanied by audio tracks, where Ivan Simonov talks about the history of their creation, concept and characters. Videos dedicated to street art complement the online display.
