On December 18, at the Gilyarovsky Center, a branch of the Museum of Moscow, a cycle of New Year’s events for children of all ages begins. Christmas trees, performances, master classes, quizzes and an exhibition await visitors.

New Year’s program from the folk-puppet theater "Dushegrei". Participants will see a magical performance based on the fairy tale "Morozko", an art workshop on making twist dolls and funny Russian folk games.
Quiz "Mysteries of New Year’s Moscow"
8-12 years
The participants of the quiz will go on a journey through the festive Moscow of the 20th century. Under the leadership of the historian Tatyana Voznyuk, children will remember their favorite New Year’s poems, songs and cartoons, learn the history of the appearance of the main characters of the holiday, admire the Christmas tree decorations and greeting cards from childhood of mothers, fathers, grandfathers and grandmothers, and also solve riddles about Moscow, the Kremlin, chimes and ruby stars.
Museum lesson "Visiting grandfather Gilyay"
5-12 years old
At the museum lesson, children will get acquainted with the most interesting events in the life of the chronicler of old Moscow, Vladimir Gilyarovsky, his book "Moscow and Muscovites", stories and essays. You can also see old photographs and paintings by artists that will help you travel back in time and find out how Moscow lived at the turn of the century.

New Year’s master class with Olya Gulevich
4–8 years old
A journey to the fairy tale by Ernest Hoffmann to the music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Children with their own hands dazzle a magic picture from plasticine based on a famous work.
New Year’s master class "Advent Calendar"
7-13 years
Together with the illustrator Anna Tenenbaum, the participants of the master class will make an Advent calendar entitled "Ten Days Before…".
Festive master class "Letter to the Future"
7-12 years
Together with the illustrator Anna Tenenbaum, the children will write and come up with a message book and send it to the future. It will be possible to open the book of wishes only in 2023.

Fire, water and copper pipes await him ahead. At the end, the audience will become participants in a master class, where, with the help of magic plasticine, the simplest twigs and sticks will come to life and turn into Chelovekina.
"Theater on the rug", 6+

Sometimes just a rug is enough for a performance. Together with the Theater of Taste, viewers will learn to quickly adapt to space and work with a subject, acquire skills in creating street performances and become authors, actors, real actors, inspired by comedy of masks. The program is imbued with the Italian spirit and gives a charge of good mood to all participants, regardless of age.
Exhibition "Dreams and Tangerines"
From December 24 at the Gilyarovsky Center
One of the main symbols of the New Year is the tangerine. It is associated not only with the festive table, joy and guests, but also with the innermost dreams and hopes for the next year, written in a letter to Grandfather Frost, or said to himself during the chiming clock. A small, cozy exhibition will plunge visitors into the atmosphere of magic and traditions of celebrating Christmas and New Year. Spectators will be able to admire the carnival masks of the past, Soviet postcards, posters of New Year’s performances and photographs, as well as learn how tangerines have become one of the symbols of the main family holiday.
