Museum Night 2014. In the Urbanism Area: Signs of the Place Automatic translate

On May 15, at 13:00, a press show will be held on the special program of the Kashirka Exhibition Hall and the Kashirsky Dvor shopping and construction complex as part of the annual Night at the Museum 2014 campaign. Curator: Olga Dranichkina.

Within the framework of the campaign “Night at the Museum - 2014”, not limited to just the exposition, the exhibition hall “On Kashirka” will expand its borders and enter the city space with two large-scale public art projects. In them, artists will develop the theme of a big city, the space of life and the place of a person in it.

The uniqueness of this program lies in the fact that it will be implemented on the non-core, unusual for the Moscow audience site of the Kashirsky Dvor shopping and construction complex, and works of modern art will be created from building materials “found on the spot”.

The press-show of the program will take place in the form of an interactive tour of key places:

- The main exposition “IN THE ZONE OF URBANISM” in the exhibition hall “On Kashirka”, where thematic works of not only contemporary artists, but also museum and educational institutions will be exhibited: painting, graphics, installations, video art, photographs from the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve " and much more;

- Public art project “GRAY ZONE - OBJECT OF ATTRACTION”, which will turn the Gardeners Park into a kind of cultural “point of concentration” for residents of the region, a platform for communication and exchange of ideas. The curator Olga Dranichkina will tell about the project;

- Public art project on the territory of the Kashirsky Dvor shopping complex:

- An art quest created from building materials by modern Russian artists, such as: Marina Zvyagintseva, Maria Kalmykova, Ales Mishchenko, Kostya Zmoqk, students of MGHPA im. SG Stroganova and others. The participants of the press show, like all visitors to the Kashirsky Dvor shopping center, will subsequently be given a leaflet with a description of the project and a scheme by which all points of the art quest can be found.

- installation of Marina Zvyagintseva CONNECTOR, which is planned to be nominated in the Guinness Book of Records, as the largest art structure of construction pipes.

During the press-show, a coffee break will be organized (OT “On Kashirka”) and a buffet reception (TC “Kashirsky Dvor”).

The project is based on the manifesto of the Moscow Urban Forum 2013: “Urbanism is returning to the conditions of life, work and free time of the bulk of the city’s inhabitants. The periphery of the city is the center of attention. 90% of the inhabitants live here - the fate of megacities is decided here. ”

The gray zone is an urban environment devoid of an attractive identity - the peripheral areas of megacities that lack cultural “points of attraction”. The exhibition hall, being one of the cultural centers of the region, draws residents into dialogue with art.

Public art project in the open air in the Gardeners Park (in May 2013 the park became part of the Kuzminsky Forest Park) - this is a kind of platform for communication and exchange of ideas. Along the central avenue there are art objects: stylized gray “windows” by analogy with the “windows” of the statuses of popular social networks with questions to residents. Everyone can write their answer with a marker in the "window".

14.45 - 15.30 CONTEXT OF HABITATION. Public art project on the territory of the Kashirsky Dvor shopping complex

Construction shopping complexes are closely connected with the arrangement of space for living and working. Artists pay attention to a person’s place in the urban network, focusing on his true needs and the nature of things.

CONNECTOR installation was performed by Marina Zvyagintseva from sewer pipes and placed on the facade of the shopping center. The artistic image is based on the idea of ​​a network or web, which is often found both in nature and in urban infrastructure: a street-road network, territorial connectivity, the Internet, the "network" of underground communications, the metro, and the telephone network, which entangle a city dweller.

The installation is planned to be nominated in the Guinness Book of Records, as the largest art structure of construction pipes.
