For the tenth time, the museum joins the international “Night of Museums” campaign and opens its doors to all comers until the late evening of May 21, 2016!

Over the years, we have developed good traditions of holding this main museum festival of the year. Its goal is to make our guests have an unforgettable and vivid experience and would like to come to the museum again and again! Therefore, the Night program is always rich and varied, designed for all ages and tastes! In 2016, the museum night is held under the motto "The very first."

The program of the Museum Night 2016 will last until 22.00 and will be held not only in Kaluga, but also in our branches - the Tarusa Art Gallery (until 20 hours), the Mosalsky Art Gallery (until 22 hours) and the Ulyanovsk Art Gallery.

In Kaluga, holiday events will be held at two addresses at once:

From 14.00 to 21.30 work:

• the main exposition and “The exhibition of one painting:“ Portrait of Field Marshal Z. G. Chernyshev ”(copy from the original by A. Roslin)
• exhibition "Favorite theater and cinema artists in portraits of artists", dedicated to the Year of Russian cinema (exhibition hall in the southern wing).

From 16.00 to 20.00 - a quiz is offered to visitors of the exhibition. Winners - prizes.

• exhibition-sale "Kaluga art souvenir" (northern wing)

From 15.00 to 18.00 - the museum game "Art Detective." The game takes place in the halls of the museum. Winners and participants will receive prizes.

At 17.00 - a blitz quiz for connoisseurs of the history of the museum and its collection (2nd floor). Winner - a prize!

From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. - the “ONE TO ONE” photo-battle (2nd floor) - a competition for the best photo in the images of our picturesque masterpieces. Shoot, post on social networks (VKontakte and Instagram) with the hashtag #NIGHT MUSEUMS and get likes!
