On April 23, 2024 at 16:00, the exhibition “Unusual in the Ordinary” by artists Innesa and Fyodor Pomelov will open at the Information, Educational and Exhibition Center of the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts (103 Lenina St., first floor).
Innesa and Fyodor Pomelov are mother and son, artists whose creative path is incredibly individual and bright. Each of them has his own artistic personality and is a great professional in the field of fine arts. Both artists are members of the Union of Artists of Russia, both have a huge number of exhibitions and plein airs behind them, their works are in museums and collections in Russia and abroad. Innesa was awarded the title “Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts” in 2017; Fedor received a Letter of Gratitude from the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation in 2022.
Innesa’s main path is ceramics, this is what she finds and shows herself as a true master. Her works are always filled with signs, symbols and meanings, forcing the viewer to immediately look for numerous associations and allusions in their memory and imagination. She uses ceramics to address themes of music, painting, poetry, theater and philosophy. The works are always filled with sincere warmth, captivating at first sight.
Fedor is a wonderful painter who is always on friendly terms with canvas and paint. He is bold, expressive, and his work exudes energy and spiritual strength. He feels great in a variety of genres. In a portrait he clearly captures the character, emotions, energy and mood of his model, in a landscape he conveys liveliness, variability, trepidation and mood. Separately, it is worth highlighting his vision of still life, in which he addresses the theme of old things, and exposes the soul of these things, seeing a hidden living principle in them. Old rusty equipment in his works suddenly takes on character, turning from cold, lifeless objects into warm, sincere heroes of the past.
