From the author
Time and human life leave an imprint on the interior items that surround us. Old objects have their own history, their smell, their color. And they leave certain sensations when a person touches them. Memory eats into an object, an object becomes a conductor of memory, gradually collapsing, losing its owner. Interior items collected in the flea markets of the world went through reconstruction. Minimal interference with the structure of objects, a loving and reverent attitude to every centimeter of space during painting fills old household items with a new life, preserving the old breath.
roll two wooden balls in the palm of your hand
the third lost a man in a car with eyes covered from the sun,
sour smell of sandalwood on the fingers,
a drafts swing the pendulum at the watch, forgotten how to wake up in the morning,
the dial has forgotten the rattle of the hands in a circle,
I’ll buy a key from an old woman in an empty market,
I’ll set up a staircase with creaky steps,
I will open the door of the walnut tree
cobweb, dried fly, perfume bottle with faded label,
a tram ticket that has long been rusted in an abandoned depot,
the crepe de chine dress will closely hug the body,
gloves tighten wrists
the hat coquettishly covers half of the face,
a waltz will spin around the living room, scattering scraps of letters,
dried wildflowers from musty summer houses,
black and white memories stuck in heavy cabinets
smelling of mothballs and time,
the ball will fall to the floor, banging against the parquet
rolls far beneath a sofa with ragged armrests.
