On the Edge, Sweet Samson Solo Show

S.T.Art-gallery invites to the solo show of contemporary artist Sweet Samson “On the Edge”.

Sweet Samson holds Master degree in the Fine Art (OTIS College of Art and Design, Los Angeles,

California), Fine Art diploma (University of the Arts London, Central Saint Martins) and Bachelor degree in Design (Moscow University of Design and Technology).

The artist participated in numerous solo and group shows, her works have been exhibited in New York, London, Moscow, Chicago and Los Angeles.

Art pieces made by Sweet Samson are part of permanent collections of Yuko Nii Foundations (New York), Vozrojdenie Fund (Moscow), as well as, in private collections in the USA, Europe and Russian Federation.

The Artist is a member of the Professional Artists Union of Russia.

Sweet holds various prestigious awards, such as, ArtSlant Award, ‘Light, Space&Time’ and CAGO

Art Competition.

She lives and works in Los Angeles.

S. T. Art-gallery is pleased to present “On the Edge”, a solo show of the talented artist Sweet Samson. There are flat and three-dimensional works on display. Pieces created in a proprietary technique where Samson invents new form of expression and transforms carbon fiber into the objects of distinctive quality.

The artist’s exploration of texture, transparency and multi-complexity of forms in realm of non-objective geometry intertwines with such movements as Minimalism and OP-Art. Presented works reflect on flatness and volume, as well as, redefine notions of painting and sculpture.

Sweet Samson transcends from traditional canvas, moreover, in one of the works “Ambiguity”, a piece of canvas is applied as an incorporated compositional component.

Each work is self-sufficient and results from the process that is in many ways visceral. Works are installed on the single wall in a shape of dashed line. Pieces become distinctive units of the reciprocal narrative, being in a dialog one with another through a creative eloquence brought forth by the artist.

Exhibition is on view from 2nd to 9th December 2015.
