On February 10, 2020, the first multimedia exhibition of generative art “SELF-MADE” opens in Artefice Gallery.
Artefice Gallery actively collaborates with young curators and artists. Regular internships of art students at the St. Petersburg Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture I.E. Repin concludes with a competition of exhibition projects. The winner, even while studying, gets the opportunity to implement the exhibition with the assistance of the gallery.
The results of the competition of curatorial projects of 2019 among graduate students of the faculty of theory and history of art were summed up. The winner was Margarita Sagitova with the SELF-MADE project, which was dedicated to a promising direction in working with new media - generative art.
The latest experiments with neural networks, the experience of immersion, the brink of sensory - the viewer will see generative art (from Latin. Genero - to give birth, to produce), as a projection of the art of the future. A joint project with St. Petersburg media artist Aizek includes video installations and sound-art created using computer algorithms.
The current exhibition is an attempt to comprehend the concept of “self-made” (translated from English - made independently) in the framework of modern generative art. The classic gallery space will be unusually immersed in the darkness and sounds of electronic music. The modern viewing format in the form of art mediation will give everyone the freedom to make their own judgments.
Aizek was born in 1990 on the Kamchatka Peninsula.
He graduated from SPbGUP (faculty of directing), the British Higher School of Design (motion design (from the English. - motion design)), Ildar Yakubov Interactive School.
Resident YotaLab (St. Petersburg), curator of the laboratory for experiments and training in the field of Art + Tech POLYGON (St. Petersburg), co-organizer of the first Hackathon in the field of media art and machine learning (St. Petersburg), participant in Science Fest (St. Petersburg) Petersburg), the Festival of Light (St. Petersburg), the Sehsüchte festival (Potsdam), the Starcon festival (St. Petersburg).
