The Creative Union of Russian Artists invites to the Hall of Fine Arts of the Volga branch of the Russian Academy of Arts “Lavrushinsky 15” to a personal exhibition of paintings and drawings by Alexei Dormenko dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the author’s creative career. In 1977, Dormenko joined the Joint Committee of the Union of Graphic Artists, later transformed into the Creative Union of Russian Artists.
In 1978, the artist first participated in the exhibition "Young artists traveling around the country", having been on a creative trip to the Far East. Since then, the romance of travel has become one of the main sources of inspiration.
Sculpture, architecture, objects of applied art, objects of technological progress are favorite subjects of paintings and graphic works of the author. A variety of artistic techniques and techniques in the artist’s works is based on the graphic perception of nature, where the drawing is primary.
In this exhibition, the author uses new techniques of tempera painting for himself in combination with other graphic techniques, combining traditional spatial painting with decorative planar elements of the composition. “Moscow - Lisbon” is a philosophical understanding of what has been seen and experienced.
Aleksey Dormenko - Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor, along with creative activities in the Russian Union of Artists, the Moscow Union of Artists, the Ministry of Agriculture teaches drawing and painting at art universities in Moscow. He was awarded a silver medal and thanks to the Russian Academy of Arts, a diploma and a gold medal of the TCX of Russia, as well as numerous diplomas and certificates.
The artist’s works are in private collections in Russia and abroad.
The exhibition runs from April 02 to April 13, 2018.
