As part of the opening exhibition “History of Russian design 1917-2017” in the Museum to them. AND I. Slovtsov, residents of Tyumen can create their own unique exhibition by taking part in the competition for the most interesting subject of industrial design of the Soviet era. What if an antique watch from my grandmother or a vintage skirt in a closet are real examples of design from yesteryear? Applications for participation in the competition are accepted until October 26.

For consideration may be presented clothes, household items and souvenirs manufactured industrially from the mid-1960s to the end of the 1980s. Each object should be interesting from the point of view of the history of design, for example, to reflect the trends of the period, to be developed by a famous designer, released in a limited edition or dedicated to an important event. It can be clothes, household items, a book, a poster or a souvenir.

The aim of the competition is to expand the understanding of a wide audience and professional community about the industrial design of our country, to tell about the history of its development by the example of objects that are stored at home of each of us.

On the closing day of the exhibition, October 28, an open review-review of all announced items will be held. Olga Druzhinina, development director of the Moscow Museum of Design and co-curator of the exhibition, will give an expert assessment and select the best items for a future local exhibition.

The exhibition “History of Russian Design 1917–2017” is the first exhibition in the history of modern Russia, which presents the best examples of Russian design of its three main periods: constructivism (1917 – early 1930s), the formation and development of the Soviet design system (1950–1980) and modernity (1990–2017). The main goal is to acquaint a wide audience with the history of domestic industrial design from the avant-garde to the present, showing the most characteristic patterns in one exposition.
