ORGANIZERS:
The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Visart Foundation for the Development of Visual Art, Moscow City Public Library Institution Gallery A3, with the participation of the Creative Union of Russian Artists and the Volga branch of the Russian Academy of Arts.
The main question raised during the exhibition: can history teach anything to humanity, and what is history for a new generation of artists?
The authors expected certain references to history, specific events, and in general, as a phenomenon, but not for the sake of creating genre works containing only an illustration of facts, but a rethinking and deconstruction of these facts and, possibly, myths.
The name of the project manifests the need to comprehend its place in time, the stream of artistic discoveries and tirelessly alternating directions. This proposal is to express the importance of time in art in general and in the artist’s personal practice. A vector has been selected for the analysis of contemporary art space from the point of view of the subjects of this space, young artists looking for their way in art. There is an appeal of artists to “eternal themes”, to that which remains unchanged despite the passage of time. On the other hand, a marked desire to analyze the shift in emphasis, point of view and perception in the framework of these eternal themes.
Participants were asked to designate their place in the art process, to speak out on this score, primarily plastic, without a simplifying "staged" approach.
The participants:
The interregional exhibition is at the level of selection of participants and exhibiting of the exhibition. Part of the work was created specifically for this project, and part was selected from the existing ones.
