German Vinogradov
“8 measurements of BICAPO”
Interactive eight-channel electronic acoustic installation
The legendary syncretic artist German Vinogradov presents a unique sound installation that harmoniously combines the tactility and tangibility of the objective world and the algorithmic sophistication of the digital world.
Created in 1988, the BICAPO design has lived several lives for 26 years. Many times it has been exhibited in museums and galleries as an acoustic sounding structure, for decades it has been involved in the shamanistic mystery of German Vinogradov "BICAPO OF CELESTIAL FOREST" (in acoustic and electro-acoustic versions), and has also been used in several performances and films.
For the exhibition at the Electromuseum, German Vinogradov connected BICAPO to 8 piezoelectric sensors, detecting structural vibrations inaudible to the ear. The signals from the sensors, having undergone digital processing of various types, are reproduced in real time through 8 speakers. Thus, a new, previously inaudible, variable layer is added to the sound of the structure. The BICAPO material construction becomes the visible (and audible) peak of a huge sound iceberg.

The exhibition is open until February 22.
Elena Romenkova
Glitch Diva
Digital Prints, Video
A young artist from St. Petersburg, Elena Romenkova, working in the rapidly gaining popularity “glitch art” direction, creates digital images using programming error algorithms. Failure in a computer program gives colorful visual effects, on the one hand, referring us to the techniques of modernist painting, and on the other, constituting a new aesthetic that came to us with digital technology. Elena uses this technique to create self-portraits, acting as the subject of the shooting, and as an active subject, author, demiurge.
Glitch Diva Elena Romenkova continues the tradition of female portraiture - one of the most ancient and widespread genres in the visual arts - combining it with fashionable selfie-narcissism. Embedding into computer code, it “spoils”, practically destroys its images, but - here’s a paradox! - from this they become even more beautiful.
The exhibition is open until February 8th.
Ivan Tuzov
"Pixel Hero"
Digital prints, pixel sculptures
Ivan Tuzov is known for his pixel graphics, which makes us nostalgically recall the early computers and old video games. Being a Petersburger, Ivan Aces quickly burst into the Moscow art scene this year. His popularity began with a Facebook page where the artist posts his minimalist pixel art. Voluntarily limiting himself in expressive means, he achieves a truly masterly filigree in the creation of artistic images. His direct, immediate statement instantly reaches the viewer, and the laconic graphic language of his works continues the traditions of popular print, caricature, comic book.
The Pixel Hero exposition will present to the public less straightforward and more experimental works by Ivan Tuzov, in which the pixel is combined with glitch, abstraction, social criticism, as well as other works by the author - bizarre digital monsters from his lesser-known "wooden series" and several sculptures from the designer Lego, specially created by the artist for the exhibition at the Electromuseum.
The exhibition is open until February 8th.
