Gallery 21 presents from October 24 to January 15, 2018 a personal exhibition of the artist Marina Zvyagintseva # Unlock. The project raises the issues of interaction between the individual and the city, which are important for the artist and in general for our time, which are expressed in the contrast of bright color bursts of monotype and the gray mass of concrete walls and panels. According to the artist, with the help of art a person can unlock this crushing mass. The term “unlock” is also firmly associated with the media space, which, in turn, constantly puts pressure on people and the city itself.
Marina Zvyagintseva uses two copyright brands: a unique monotype technique and the theme of the city outskirts, the so-called “sleeping area”. She consistently develops the idea of the invasion of modern art in the cultural vacuum of the urban outskirts. On her account - the organization and conduct of many significant public art projects. The ability to negotiate with a complex customer named the city and work without Moscow pessimism with Moscow dullness made it one of the most prominent figures in the capital’s public art.

The new project of Marina Zvyagintseva takes place not in the open city space, but in the walls of Gallery 21 at the Winery. The protagonist of the project # Unblock - concrete block, part of the modern city, brought into the room. The main expressive tool is monotype - an ancient technique of the 17th century, which the artist introduces into the fabric of modern art and combines with such unexpected materials as concrete or sewer pipes. Although the print on the canvas or the object of the movement of paint on the water surface is not completely predictable (monotypes “Life Line”; “Internal Circuit”; “Unlock”; “Immersion”). Water is a natural element. This gives rise to an important contrast for the author of gray concrete and living art. Under the influence of the colorful flow of monotype, gray monolithic concrete cracks (installations "Information Pressure"; "The gap of everyday life").

The artist is trying to unlock both the information field and the relations between people. Picturesque mobile devices, pipes, projections and the red color prevailing in monotypes are added to the graphically abstract wall.
According to art critic Alexandra Rudyk: “An important optical setting for viewing an artist’s projects is emotional. In his tireless desire to reach out to all living things, Zvyagintsev reminds writers of the New Sincerity, tired of postmodern conceptual games, seeking to return to man. In addition, verbal art, where text is more important than image; marginalization of ethics; omnivorous consumer society; shocking art actions on the field of politics; playful conceptual tricks; the art of post-internet, which penetrated the international biennale, prompted the artist to create a sincere and even a little lyrical hero. His humanistic work is to unblock genuine emotions, connect them with materialized communications and start a new emotional movement. And the monumental physical shell, flavored with special effects, such as creeping lines and video projections, is a spectacular technique that helps the innermost find a real physical shell. ”
