“Works and Days” is my favorite metaphor for the flow of human life. Creativity and art make it more bearable. But art also makes sense to me only as the appearance of something beautiful and superfluous out of nothing, like a home-woven fabric made from threads produced by one’s own labor and time.
Non-professional artist. The workshop is located in the family home, in the ancient Karelian village of Korza. I started drawing three years ago. He writes on old homespun bags, boards, etc. He uses old window frames instead of stretchers and everything that has lost its “value” for the modern world. She is engaged in weaving, and she herself tries to weave canvases for her works.
Over the past few years, she has created about 300 works - paintings, collages, art objects, dolls, textile panels from self-grown flax, accessories, etc.
The title is inspired by the text of the same name by Hesiod, although the themes of the works include reflection on culture in a broader sense - symbolic and metaphorical.
“I rejoice when the “unnecessary” finds its own independent existence. This, it seems to me, is the meaning of my creativity. A year ago I was lucky enough to exhibit my works in the village house of creativity. The exhibition was called “Bird” and was dedicated to my great-grandmother. I want to dedicate this exhibition to my mother, who passed away several years ago. The name stems from the understanding of the strong connection of everything with everything in our fragile world.”
