On August 23, 2019 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Modern Art of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan (Kazan, Karl Marx Street, 57), during the visit of the Liechtenstein cultural mission to Tatarstan, artist Alex Doll will present the exhibition project “Liechtenstein. Flowers ”and will introduce you to the visual culture of the European Principality, celebrating its 300th anniversary in 2019.
Alex Doll was born in 1990 in Orenburg. In childhood, he studied iconography in an Orthodox monastery, studied painting at an art school. He completed a practice in the field of painting and design with A. D. Alexandrov and worked in his workshop "Alexandrov Design House" in Moscow. He improved his skills at the School of Art in Bern in the drawing department. Since 2013 - a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, in 2014 he was elected an Honorary Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts. Lives and works in Bern and Moscow.
The exhibition "Flowers of Liechtenstein" consists of a series of paintings, in which unusual inflorescences, like an orchestra, fill with beauty the space around them. Ornamentality, harmony and tranquility of works attract the viewer, allowing him to enjoy the fragile idyll of the world. Flowers of Alex Dolly smoothly "flow" from colorful canvases into the world of things and transform familiar objects. In this case, the author deliberately goes for the reproduction of a floral image. At the exhibition, you can see art objects painted by the author: a model of a traditional chalet house provided by the Switzerland in Miniature Museum and Exhibition Complex (Ticino), as well as a video performance in the form of a flower ballet dance from the moment it appeared until withers performed by ballet dancer of Berlin Alexander Abdukarimov and duet Open Opera project Maria Gridneva and Vitaliy Makarenko.
The special guest of the vernissage will be the director of the National Museum of the Principality of Liechtenstein, Professor Dr. Rainer Vollkommer, who will conduct a virtual tour of the National Museum of Liechtenstein and the presentation of the catalog of the exhibition “1719-2019. 300 years of the Principality of Liechtenstein.
