"Faces of the landscape" Automatic translate

June 14 at 17:00 in the gallery "Belyaevo" Association "Exhibition Halls of Moscow" will open the exhibition "Persons of the landscape", which is based on a study of the local identity of the Belyaevo region. The project was created with the support of the Free Workshops School of Contemporary Art of MMOMA.

The project was based on a local study of the Belyaevo region, namely the identity of the post-Soviet man, dissolved in the urban landscape, on the one hand, and on the other hand, forming its visual character, spatial and temporal structure. In a situation where the city loses its uniqueness, as for example, this happened in the Soviet era of typical mass development, a person becomes part of the local landscape. Losing his own personality, he at the same time endows the environment with his “portrait traits”.

The crisis of the Soviet collective identity gives rise to a field of unstable, “flickering” identities, which are manifested in the bodily, linguistic, cultural practices of modern man, in its relationship with the environment and memory of the place.

In paintings and graphic works, photographs, installations, exhibitors conceptualize the physical, social and cultural space of the region, talk about cultural memory, the possibilities of its preservation and translation, as well as such a concept as “genius of the place”. In the “Metaphysical Hall” of the project, artistic reflection goes beyond the boundaries of the district and initiates the start of a conversation about local and global landscape identity.

Participants: Maria Zaikina, Veronika Sukoyan, Yegor Plotnikov, Pavel Otdelnov, Dmitry Okruzhnov and Maria Sharova, Veronika Kalacheva, Taisiya Korotkova, Peter Korotkov, Dmitry Lukyanov, graduates of the Free Workshops School of Modern Art of MMOMA, students of the HSE School of Design.

The project will include guided tours, film screenings, workshops, meetings with artists and local residents.
