This is an exhibition dedicated to summer. After all, it happens in the country once a year. Officially lasts three months, ninety-two days long. Literally passes in an instant. Just start to feel him as another time comes darker and colder. People during this period try to experience everything: visit the just opened fashion bar, see the best open airs, read a stack of books, watch another movie at the same festival in Sochi or Cannes, go to a park, zoo, go on a trip, go to grandma’s to a village with an unusual name. This list may not end so simply. After all, so many things I want to catch in such a short period of time when the air becomes warmer and the sounds louder. A new series of works is dreams of summer, whose warmth is the perpetual motion machine of all living things. It exists in a free state. Unrestrained fun reigns there and there is no stench, every minute, year-round. This is a world where no one seeks to claim dominance. Everything is equal in its own way. Here the boundaries between man and animal are erased. Here a crocodile lives without a cage. This is a world in which there is no zoo. There is an unspoken agreement between humans and animals. Manikhin draws what is visible in the media and what is lacking for a modern person living in the Central Russian strip.
