Center for Contemporary Art Winzavod launches a parallel program of the tenth anniversary exhibition Best of Russia, which will focus on the role of photography in shaping and fixing the history of Russia.
The first event in the framework of the parallel program will be a lecture by a journalist, editor-compiler of the photo album “Leaders and People. "Twinkle". 100 years with Russia ”by Natalia Udartseva. During the lecture, Natalia will tell about the history of the magazine in the iconic works of legendary photographers from the end of the 19th century until the moment when Ogonyok became the mouthpiece of publicity in the era of perestroika. The lecture will be held in the Vintage Hall of the Center for Contemporary Art Winery on April 10 at 19:00.
The Spark magazine, the first issue of which was published in 1899, has for many years become one of the most beloved Russian and Soviet publications. At different times, outstanding journalists and photographers wrote and filmed for The Twinkle, and you can study the history of the country from the covers and illustrated spreads of the Twinkle.

Natalia Udartseva is a Russian journalist, photo editor, founder and director of the School of Visual Arts, a member of the International Association of Journalists and the Union of Russian Photo Artists.
