February 23 in the Great Hall of the Philharmonic performed by the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra under the direction of n. but. Sergey Stadler’s Russia will hear the immortal music of Beethoven. In the spring of 2017, it will be 190 years since the death of the great German composer, whose works have become a world musical heritage. The concert is an anthology of his works written for violin and orchestra.
The program will feature the famous violin concerto in D major, op. 61, which is well known to both professionals and amateurs, as well as rarely performed works of musical genius. So, for example, Konzertsatz for violin and orchestra is the sonata Allegro in C major, the only surviving fragment of an early unfinished violin concert, which was never performed or published at the time of the composer.
In the second section, the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra and Sergey Stadler will perform two romances for violin and orchestra and German dances.
A bright conclusion to the evening will be the performance of an essay that occupies a special place in Beethoven’s work - fragments from his only ballet The Creation of Prometheus. Solo on the violin will be performed by maestro Stadler himself.
