In 2017, the world celebrates the centenary of the Great October Revolution, which forever changed the political world landscape. “Listen to the music of the revolution!” - Alexander Block called in 1918. Just as Russian life broke into smithereens in the fall of 1917, so Russian classical music broke up into a mass of currents and individuals scattered all over the world. The collective portrait of music "around the perimeter" of the Red Wheel includes the compositions of Prokofiev and Shostakovich, Zaderatsky and Shcherbachev, Roslavets and Mosolov, Popov and Polovinkin. All this together reflects the colorful and dissonant world of Russian musical art at the turn of the 1910s – 1920s.
