On May 21, the Zagorye Gallery (Heritage Exhibition Hall) of the Moscow Exhibition Halls opens the local history exhibition The Invisible Layer based on the Tsaritsyno museum-reserve archaeological collection.
The exhibition will feature more than one hundred archaeological sites from the cultural strata of Tsaritsyno and Zamoskvorechye, which allow reconstructing the history of the development of Tsaritsyno land for almost a thousand years.
Among the exhibits are jewelry and tools of the X-XIII centuries, household items of the XVII-XVIII centuries, stove tiles, “Bazhenov” building ceramics, as well as photo archives and artifacts of Tsaritsyno’s recent history. The exhibition is accompanied by detailed comments.
All visitors to the exhibition will be able to try on the images of the boyar, the prince, the little fashionable woman of the eighteenth century and Catherine II, taking photographs against the backdrop of picturesque tantamares.
Within the framework of the exhibition, weekly excursions, lectures, a local history trip and a master class on ceramic tile painting in the Dutch style will be held.
