Gallery "Belyaevo" presents a new art project "Cosmic Belyaevo" - a series of exhibitions of artists who in their work address the theme of space. The project starts with a personal exhibition of Russian artist Leonid Tishkov, who has been working with the theme of Russian cosmism for more than 20 years, which is interfaced with the theme of preserving memory and the mythologization of being.
Within the framework of the project, Leonid Tishkov addresses such great figures as poet Velimir Khlebnikov, scientist and inventor Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, artist Kazimir Malevich, religious thinker and philosopher Nikolai Fedorov.
The artist in his album “Ladomir” presents Velimir Khlebnikov as a brilliant seer who anticipated the structure of an ideal society with his poem. He devotes to Konstantin Tsiolkovsky the installation “Forms of the Future” - direct proof that the self-taught scientist was not only a pioneer in space exploration, but also a unique philosopher who created a model of the communist utopia of the future, as well as the creator of a new modernist language in art. Fedorov’s theme of the resurrection, preservation and transformation of obsolete material is embodied by Tishkov in objects that he himself crochets from torn old clothes, for example, “Shadows-Angels-Cosmonauts” and “Rocket to Visit Fathers”. The installation “Cube of Eternity” is a tribute to the artist Kazimir Malevich as a philosopher and visionary, his endless dialogues with the Universe, his “perception of the sky”. At the exhibition, one of the central exhibits will be the new work of the artist "Jupiter", based on the will of Malevich. The exposition is completed by the poetic light installation “Private Moon”, traveling with Leonid Tishkov around the world since 2003, visiting many countries, circling the Earth like a real satellite.
“Sugar architects”, a huge sun from dried pasta, “Stars in shoe boxes” and other objects presented at the exhibition demonstrate that Leonid Tishkov’s cosmism is not a direction in art, it is life itself, which the artist lives as ideal a being who engages in dialogue with the philosophy of Russian cosmism through visual images.
