On October 1 at 14:00 a new concert season will open in the Perm Gallery. On this day, the Barocco a la prima musicians will present the program “XVIII Century Virtuosos”.
The concert will be a real gift for music lovers, because the works chosen by the artists are very rarely performed not only in Perm, but also in the world.
The audience will have the opportunity to hear the baroque music of Italian composers Pietro Antonio Locatelli and Michele Musquitti, as well as French authors Joseph Boden de Boisortier and Jean-Marie Leclair. At one time, all of them were not only composers, but also performers, real "stars" of the musical world of the 18th century. It is these authors who have developed in the performing environment such a concept as “virtuoso”, that is, a musician who masterfully owns technology. These people expanded the possibilities of stringed instruments, and their play had a great influence on the development of the performance of all of Europe.
Today, the names of these composers are known only to professional musicians, and the works of authors can be heard quite rarely. There are several reasons for this. On the one hand, it is technically complex music that requires special skills that not every artist possesses. Another reason is the chamber character of the music itself. Such works were often created for a particular event, performed in temples or secular music salons and were designed for a small audience. Now the tradition of chamber music making is not so demanded by the audience, preferring works of the "big" genre.
The concert “Virtuosos of the 18th century” - an opportunity to get acquainted with baroque music in an authentic performance of the Barocco a la prima band.
