The basis of her solo program, Galina Sidorenko laid the music of the most famous and beloved composers of France - Georges Bizet and Charles Gounod, the greatest lyricists and masters of chamber and opera genres.
The program included fragments from the opera Carmen, Agnus Dei (to the music of the interval from Arlesianka) and the songs of Bizet, Ave Maria, Evening Prayer and Stansa Sappho (the ending of the opera Sappho) by Gounod.
In the cabaret genre, Galina Sidorenko first performed Kurt Weill’s songs more than 15 years ago. This evening she will perform real rarities - “Cabaret Songs” by Schoenberg and Britten. On the one hand, this is one of the facets of the “popular”, bohemian pop-theatrical performance. On the other hand, the “classic cabaret” is the most important artistic document of a turning point in which the entertaining style of songs and verses is filled with tragic and philosophical content. The parody images of ordinary people with their mundane passions, sentimental stories, with their thirst for love and disappointments embody the very essence of the spirit of the times. Therefore, it is natural, although absolutely unexpected for us, to appeal to this genre of such serious composers.
The rhyme for Habanere Carmen, which is based on one of the folklore melodies recorded by Sabastian Iradière (habaner - “Havana dance”), at the end of the concert will sound the cycle of the Catalan composer Chavier Monsalvatzhe “Five black songs” (Cinco canciones negras), in which rhythms were used and tunes of the Antilles.
