The exhibition "Art of Ossetia" is organized within the framework of the Days of Culture of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, held in Moscow from October 9 to 15, 2024. The extensive events of the program are dedicated to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Republic, the 250th anniversary of Ossetia’s accession to Russia and the 240th anniversary of the founding of the city of Vladikavkaz. The unique project is designed to show the uniqueness of traditional culture through the aesthetics of contemporary art, as well as to demonstrate the rich traditions of the Ossetian art school.
The Yabloko Hall of the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Russian Academy of Arts, Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery will feature about 30 paintings, sculptures and decorative art objects. Guests will see works by leading masters of North Ossetia, academicians of the Russian Academy of Arts Yuri Abisalov, Oleg Basayev, Shalva Bedoyev, Alan Kalmanov, Khariton Nogayev, Vladimir Soskiev, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Lyudmila Karaeva, Honorary Members of the Russian Academy of Arts Lyudmila Baitsayeva, Nikolay Dzukayev, Taimuraz Margiev. Having received an academic education at art schools in Moscow and St. Petersburg, being heirs and continuers of the traditions of artistic dynasties, all the masters managed to find a recognizable, individual style in art. Dissimilar to each other, relying on the experience of their predecessors, they reveal the figurative language of national culture in a new way.
