25-minute documentary “Zaitseva Gora. The tragedy of 1942 ”tells about one page of the Great Patriotic War that is little-known and terrible in its losses and is dedicated to the heroic feat of the Irkutsk people - soldiers of the 116th Transbaikal Rifle Division who died and went missing on Kaluga land in the spring of 1942. The film was shot in 2018-2019 in Irkutsk, Moscow, Kaluga, Kaluga and Smolensk regions. The film was based on historical research carried out both by the authors themselves - participants of the Altera creative group (I. I. Ternovaya, V. V. Altukhov), and received from employees of a number of museums and libraries in these cities. The filming was attended by members of the Siberian Shooter club, author and performer Dmitry Baryshnikov (Irkutsk).The collections of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum named after V.P. Sukacheva. The new film became part of the film project "Irkutsk People in the Great Patriotic War."
