The leadership of the Museum of Contemporary Art ARTMUZA treats the celebration of Victory Day with special depth and respect, organizing dedication exhibitions every spring. This year, ARTMUZE considered it necessary to recall that the courage and heroism, love and strength of the Russian people are undoubtedly the foundation of its invincibility.
The purpose of the opening large-scale exposition is to once again tell contemporaries about the heroism of the Russian people, about the courage and exploits of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, about the fearlessness and selflessness of our women at the front and in the rear.
To emphasize the historicity of this phenomenon, the museum curators decided to expand the time frame and show a retrospective of the victories of Russian weapons in three “world wars”: the Patriotic War of 1812, the First World War and the Great Patriotic War.
The artists whose works will make up the exposition are, of course, masters, passionate about their work, graduates of the leading art universities in Russia: Tamara Kamaeva, Gennady Isaev, Oksana Arkhipova, Nikita Kulushev, Ekaterina Panarina, Igor Kozhevnikov, Gennady Yandyganov, Anton Melentiev, Alexei Inozemtsev, Andrey Romasyukov, Ksenia Galkina, Evgeny Emelyanov, Alexandra Yagodkina, Yulia Kostsova, Lyudmila Shcherbinina, Sergey Konstantinov, Artem Nosov, Larisa Logun, Ksenia Istomina, Ilya Zorkin, Pavel Markin, Igor Potemkin, Alexander Krupnov, Dmitry Lovetsky.
Paintings on battle scenes, portraits of heroes, paintings related to army everyday life, landscapes of native spaces and views of military roads, the project of four St. Petersburg photojournalists "VICTORY DAY", authentic items from private collections will be presented.
Museum visitors will also see the work of graduates and students of the Faculty of Photojournalists named after Yu. A. Galperin and the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts named after Ilya Repin.
