The exhibition project is taking place as part of the First All-Russian Festival of Russian Mosaics “Omsk Birds” and is included in the plan of festive events for the 30th anniversary of the Liberov Center Museum.
The exhibition will be held at two venues. Omsk residents will be able to see part of the exhibition in the Historical Park “Russia – My History”. The exhibition of the Liberov Center Museum presents about 50 works in the mosaic technique, made by modern Russian mosaic artists using various materials and textures.
Each mosaic is an original work of authorship, embodied using smalt, natural stone, glass and other materials. The works reveal the full breadth of possibilities of the mosaic technique and demonstrate the expressive plastic capabilities of ancient mosaic art in the context of current artistic trends. In their works, Veronika Belova /Moscow/, Ekaterina Kolotova /St. Petersburg/, Yulia Gordeeva /Barnaul/, Diana Titova and Ksenia Krivorot /Omsk/ used techniques of classical Roman and Florentine mosaics, majolica, as well as modern approaches. St. Petersburg artist Inga Romanova created a series of smalt mosaics, inspired by the works of Gustav Klimt, Frida Kahlo, Amedeo Modigliani and Vincent Van Gogh. The scale of the exhibition is determined by the participation of more than 30 authors from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sevastopol, Yekaterinburg, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Barnaul, Vladivostok and other cities. More than 30 works for the exhibition were provided by members of the Union of Mosaic Artists /Moscow/.
The event will be attended by honored guests: Maria Vladilenovna Krasilnikova - corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, professor, member of the artistic expert council under the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Maxim Viktorovich Kharlov - Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts, Chairman of the Council of the Union of Mosaic Artists /Moscow/, Sharafutdinov Rinat Kumangaleevich - Honored Worker of Culture and Art of the Chelyabinsk Region /Magnitogorsk/.
