The works presented at the exhibition invite every adult to go along the path of bright memories, to tell children or grandchildren about their childhood, in which there were no computers or mobile phones, about childhood spent in the countryside, where the summer was filled with adventures and discoveries, where each hill opened wide expanses with clouds going beyond the horizon. The exhibition is multifaceted. It is based on a nostalgic motive, but it is not limited to this, offering to attention professional works of various scales: from chamber and touching etude portraits to large-scale paintings of an existential nature, where, as such, the theme of childhood is already receding into the background, giving free rein to reflections on the universe and our place in it.
A significant part of the exposition is devoted to pictorial, graphic and sculptural portraits, demonstrating the diversity of images and characters, revealed from various angles.
Light, warmth, kindness and joy - these are the simple and uncomplicated truths that the exhibition "City of Childhood" tells about, making you feel a little sad for the past years, but at the same time, urging you to remember all the best and continue to live in such a way that the new generation had a happy childhood filled with the brightest memories.
All presented works are in the collection of the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts.
