In the framework of the Year of the Netherlands in Russia, an exhibition representing the art of Holland, Flanders and Belgium of the 16th-19th centuries opens in the Kaluga Regional Art Museum.
The exhibition, held in the interiors of an old mansion, will allow the viewer to follow the development of the pictorial tradition in Dutch and Flemish art for 400 years.
The exposition will be based on works from former private collections: the collections of the Kaluga doctor Nikanor Ivanovich Vasiliev (1832-1917) and the collections of the famous collector Dmitry Sergeyevich Gorchakov (1828 - 1907), as well as individual works from the collections of Vladimir Nikolaevich Argutinsky-Dolgorukov (1874 - 1941) and Pyotr Petrovich Semenov-Tyan-Shansky (1827 - 1914).
A significant part of the exposition will be the works of masters of the XVII century - the Golden Age of Dutch and Flemish painting. The exhibition will present all the genre and stylistic diversity of paintings in the Netherlands: landscapes and still lifes, portraits and genre works. Among them are the works of Peter Paul Rubens, Joest Cornelis Drochslot (1586 - 1666), Abraham van Bejeren (1620/21 - 1690), Jan Venix (c. 1642 - 1719), Anthony Palamedes (1601 - 1673), Willem de Porter (1608 - after 1649), Abraham Stork (1644 - 1710), Paulus Potter and other old masters.
The exposition includes works of original and printed graphics, most of which will appear before the audience for the first time.
In total, more than 60 works will be exhibited.
The exhibition will run from November 14 to December 15, 2013 daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (ticket office until 5.30 p.m.), the day off is Monday, the last Friday of the month is a sanitary day.
