The river of life, its even course and rapids - all are equally interesting to Georgy Rozov, a well-known photographer who works in many genres: reporting, industrial and advertising photography, architecture, landscape, portraiture. At the Pro Life exhibition, which opens on October 27 at the Gallery’s sports art club, an exposition is presented, assembled from genre works from different years, both color and black and white. The theme of the exhibition is the life of a person from the first cry of a baby to the eyes of old people filled with life experience.
The photographer shows the versatility of human life, not taking sides, but only masterfully fixing the fundamental moments: socially sharp, funny, sad, lyrical, tragicomic, as if illustrating the words of the great combinator - “Life goes on, gentlemen!” A distinctive feature of Rozov’s photographs is the good attitude to the characters - he does not put himself higher, does not blame, does not teach, but each photo gives reason for reflection.
According to Georgy Rozov: “I am calm about this exhibition. I do not hope to change anything in my life, or to change the attitude of others towards me. I already seem to know everything about myself. I also know that photography cannot change anything in our life. But that did not make my life around me frozen as a lava of a volcano. For me, everything lives, blooms, fragrances and bears fruit. And I’m still interested in observing this, as if I only yesterday saw the world through the lens of the device. That’s why I’m not trying to “moralize" like a fabulist at the end of a fable. I hope that every viewer wants to take a closer look at the world around him and read my stories in my pictures. ”
Georgy Rozov is a photographer and journalist, the author of three popular books on photography under the general title “How to shoot” and Russia’s first album of genre infrared photography “Infrared”. The author is a participant and winner of many photo contests. Over the past two years, in the IPA competition “Human race” in 2016, he received two gold and two silver from five nominations, in 2017 - gold in the “Architecture” category. He graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University. He worked in illustrated magazines: "Spark", "Business People" and many others. He is the author of photobanks for industrial giants such as SUAL (Siberian-Ural Aluminum Company), Uralkali, Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant and others. He teaches at the Higher School of Economics.
