The production of the play “My Hamlet” based on the play by William Shakespeare in a new reading and an exhibition of paintings by director Tanya Strelbitskaya will take place on Saturday, August 6, in an abandoned building in Ruza near Moscow on the banks of the Moscow River.
The premiere screening of the non-trivial tragedy will be held as part of the multicultural project "Be!". In it, Strelbitskaya ventured to combine the author’s interpretation of the classics and her own work. Her paintings will become part and parcel of artistic performance.
Here, in a single space of an abandoned building, which the locals call the "crypt", the museum, the theater, painting, and sculpture will unite. In a large art project, the audience will see not only a performance, but also an exhibition of Strelbitskaya’s paintings on the theme of "Hamlet", where the actors themselves acted as sitters.
Another part of the project will be the museum project "Russian Hamlet", which will feature more than 60 posters and photographs of various "Hamlets" of the Soviet and earlier periods (19-20 centuries). To this end, the Tanya Strelbitskaya Workshop Foundation entered into a license agreement with the A. A. Bakhrushin State Central Theater Museum for the right to show a thematic exhibition.
On the day of the premiere, the viewer will also see an art object that was created specifically for the project "Be!" in a duet by artist Tanya Strelbitskaya and sculptor Vladimir Amodeo - included in the top 100 best artists of Russia.

About Us
“Tanya Strelbitskaya is a recognized master of expressionism. In her large-scale canvases, both in painting and in the theater, she explores the theme of the state of mind of a person of the 21st century, ”said the well-known cultural figure Igor Dudinsky.
“I searched for a long time and found this building. A house where dormant walls whispered in my ear “we are alive”. Where time ruthlessly and majestically reflects its wrinkles on everything that man has created. This house was waiting for my Hamlet. Hamlet should be right here!” says Tanya Strelbitskaya.
The management of the Akter Ruza Park Hotel, which provided the site of the former cinema for the Be! project, plans to make this place a new cultural gathering point: for those who are looking for non-obvious meanings and aesthetics.
