Galina Golaeva and Dmitry Bobylev, exhibition "Life in Dreams" Automatic translate
The authors suggest their attempt to comprehend the concepts of reality, consciousness, being. The name “Life in Dreams”, on the one hand, implies a dream as a separate reality in which a person throughout his life exists in a certain way, receiving and comprehending specific information about the world. On the other hand, routine reality can become absurd or irrational, resembling a chaotic dream, the awakening from which is an awareness of the meaning of one’s existence in the world.

Exhibition "Life in Dreams"
Photos, installations
Photos are divided into cycles: “In the Dark,” “Search,” “Motion.” Each cycle is united by a common idea, a single meaning, which is hidden both in the symbolism of the photograph and in the name. Some photos seem random, but they are all interconnected, and the establishment of this connection is the task that the authors set for the viewer.
The complex of “key figures” is a kind of “metal theater”, where each sculpture is a symbol, an image of a person’s relationship with reality. The choice of sculpture material is not accidental. The key is both a specific subject and a metaphor, a necessary element of each sculpture and a path to understanding it.
The “Insect Life” mini-installations convey the idea of human consciousness that can both reflect the fullness of true being and create an artificial environment, a false being in oneself. Consciousness locked within the framework of false being changes qualitatively. In the context of the installation, these changes are read as a kind of transformation, "transformation into insects." Each "insect" represents a certain quality of unfree, dependent consciousness. For example, “COMAR” is an image of a person living in a “coma” of drug addiction and vague ideas about life. “Beetle-on-BANK” reflects the narrowness generated by greed and thoughtless hoarding.
The main objective of the exhibition is to establish deep connections between individual images, “dreams of life”. Establishing relationships will help build a holistic picture of being. Such understanding, in our understanding, is necessary to develop a conscious attitude to life in which there is nothing accidental, to find the meaning of existence.
