Gelman Gallery in CSK "Winery" presents the exhibition of Eugene Maltseva and Victor Bondarenko "Spiritual abuse" Automatic translate
The joint project of the ideologist and collector of contemporary art Viktor Bondarenko and artist Evgenia Maltseva includes both modern Christian images - new icons that demonstrate the vibrant development of religious art, as well as paintings in which the images of members of the feminist group Pussy Riot are taken as a starting point. “Trinity”, “Spas”, “Our Lady” and “Antichrist”, completed just a few days before the exhibition (all the works presented are exhibited for the first time), are complemented by four works created in solidarity with the civil protest of the group Pussy Riot.

An exhibition of Dmitry Gutov, which created canonical images of Byzantine iconography from iron scrap, was held at the same place a few months ago, and on August 10 there was a presentation of the album “Art on the Barricades”, published by Viktor Bondarenko, on the cover of which a preliminary version of one of the paintings on display today was reproduced. It seems that the former gallery of Marat Gelman remains faithful to the innovative approach to contemporary art - you can imagine what kind of indignation in a certain environment will cause “new icons” exhibited next to works written from living “blasphemers”.
