The gala concert of opera stars of St. Petersburg in Kosice (Slovak Republic) will be held on October 12 with the support of the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg.

On the stage of the State Philharmonic in Kosice, masterpieces of the world opera repertoire from works by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Giuseppe Verdi, Ruggiero Leoncavallo, Antonin Dvořák, Franz Legra and other great composers for the Slovak public will be performed by the Mariinsky Theater soloists, winner of the Mont New International Awards ”, Virtuoso tenor Sergei Semishkur and the star of the world opera scene, striking with the crystal timbre of the coloratura soprano, Oksana Shilova; as well as the leading soloists of the Mikhailovsky Theater - the owner of a bright lyric-dramatic soprano Maria Litke and rich bright baritone Boris Pinhasovich. The evening will be held with the participation of the Kosice State Philharmonic Orchestra, at the conductor’s console - one of the recognized masters of classical art Alim Shah, artistic director of the Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra of the Opera and Ballet Theater of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory. For Russia and Slovakia, the fall seasons of opera Galas are becoming a new bright tradition, once again confirming the international character of art and the relevance of the public request for cultural integration.

The success of the opera Gala of Russian soloists in the city of Kosice, chosen by the European Union as the European Capital of Culture 2013, determined the further trend: in October 2014, two grandiose Galas with the participation of the stars of the Russian opera scene Olesya Petrova, Sergei Semishkur, Tatyana Ryaguzova, Anna Nechaeva, Julia Gertseva, Vladislav Sulimsky took place in Kosice and Bratislava, and in November 2015 already in Russia, on the stage of the St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonic named after D. D. Shostakovich, Petersburgers were introduced to the vocal culture of Slovakia. The best fragments of opera pieces were performed by the charismatic Slovak baritone Dalibor Jenis and the brilliant soloist of the Slovak National Theater Adriana Kucherova.
