On January 28, the Gallery of Siberian Art (Karla Marksa St., 23) opens a personal exhibition of the famous photo artist Valery Orsoev. The exposition is called "The Diamond Edge of Baikal", it is dedicated to a series of photographs created over 10 years. The exhibition presents about 100 works that reveal to the viewer the expressive palette of Baikal water life.
Valery Orsoev (born in 1950) came to photography from the world of sports. He worked as a photojournalist in the regional newspaper "Soviet Youth", a special photojournalist for Siberia and the Far East in the newspaper "Soviet Sport". Member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR since 1982, member of the Union of Photographers of Russia since 1990. In 2000 he received the title of "The Best Photojournalist of the Irkutsk Region of the 20th Century." Valery Orsoev is a laureate of international competitions, has FIAP (European Union of Photographers) awards, his works have taken part in all-Russian and international exhibitions. Author of several albums: "Land of Geser" (1995), "Baikal. Moments of contemplation "(2011)," My favorite "Sibskana" "(2020).
The exposition is dedicated to Lake Baikal in all its manifestations. Majestic landscapes of the "glorious sea" are replaced by original and sometimes unexpected macro shots taken over the past ten years. As the author himself says, the basis of this series is the life of Baikal water, whose endless metamorphoses create amazing images.
The exhibition "The Diamond Edge of Baikal" will run at the Gallery of Siberian Art (Karl Marx St., 23) until February 20. Phone for inquiries and appointments for excursions: 33-43-89. We remind you of the need to observe the mask regime and social distance when visiting the museum. You must show the vaccination QR code at the entrance.
