Beginning August 3, in the MUSEON Art Park, you can see all the gold of Myanmar, the wonderful world of Indonesia, Cambodia, the Philippines, the world of Brunney-Darrusalam, eco-tourism countries of Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia innovations at the opening of a photo exhibition of the famous travel- Photographer Sergey Kovalchuk "ASEAN Countries. A look from Russia ”, reflecting the life and culture of ten countries of Southeast Asia. The uniqueness of the photo project lies in the fact that this is the first and so far the only large-scale photo exhibition in Russia covering all countries of the southeastern alliance. The official opening of the exhibition will take place on August 4 at 17-00.
According to Sergei Kovalchuk, who has done dozens of projects dedicated to the states that are members of the ASEAN Association: “Starting on August 3, everyone can touch the ten countries united by the common acronym ASEAN at the Museon Art Park. Every country has a feeling. And I tried to convey it with this exhibition. This is my personal view. A look at the Southeast region. One and different at the same time. Here, each country is unique. Different stories, cultures, traditions. All this is ASEAN. ”
The exhibition is made in the Open Air format. The exposition includes more than 90 photos. The exposition is divided into 10 blocks, displaying the features of each of the countries of the region, their uniqueness and originality. Most of the photos were printed in large format, 2X3 meters in size. The exhibition is complemented by an audio guide - each photo has a QR code for a comment link.
The photo project, released as part of the Russia-ASEAN Culture Year, includes works reflecting the modern realities of the Southeast region, its official tourist places and corners, which are not so easy to reach not only for a foreigner, but also for an indigenous person. Visitors will be able to see the southeast kaleidoscope, collected from the privacy of many Asian cities, portraits of their inhabitants, natural attractions, diverse architecture, religious buildings made by the author over the past 10 years, while these countries were actively developing and turning into their poor exotic states in the "East Asian Tigers
As part of the photo exhibition, a presentation of the album-catalog “ASEAN Countries. A look from Russia ”, with the introduction of the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky, who noted that:“ Today more than ever it’s important to be able to see beauty in simple things that are not affected by borders, conflicts, or differences in the views of politicians. That is why the image of each of the ten ASEAN countries is revealed through photographs of nature, architectural monuments, the daily lives of cities and local residents. ” Photoproject “ASEAN Countries. A View from Russia ”was prepared and first shown as part of the Russia-ASEAN Summit on May 19–20 in Sochi, as part of the cross-year culture of these countries.
