“I like this project. I often walk around Neglinnaya, its environs and each time I open them for myself in a new way. The same places, seemingly thousands of times familiar, look different, it is worth looking at them in a new light or in different lighting conditions, when chiaroscuro can play in a completely different way. The street itself is rapidly changing. Buildings are being restored, squares are being decorated, a lot of events are happening and all this is in one place. Neglinnaya is a very dynamic street, but at the same time, largely preserving its historical uniqueness. These cannot but fall in love with themselves. Especially photographers, ”Pavel himself admitted in an interview.
The documentary photography contest “Neglinnaya, I Love You” started in May, and by the end of August more than 150 people took part in it. For the entire period of the competition for the jury, which included the artist, the head of the program “Photography. Basic course ”at the British Higher School of Design Svetlana Taylor and photographer Igor Mukhin, about 1000 works were submitted. The competition was a unique opportunity to share your views on Moscow with others.
The project was organized by the Neglinnaya Gallery shopping center together with the British Higher School of Design and the A. Rodchenko Moscow School of Photography and Multimedia. His theme was the new look of old Moscow, embodied in Neglinnaya street and its surroundings.
The aim of the project is to capture the changes in the life of a big city in photography, to combine the history and the present of a unique area near Neglinnaya Street, to show familiar things in new perspectives using a camera lens.
