A graduate of the ISU Faculty of Biology and Soil fell in love with Lake Baikal during the summer student practice of the faculty in Big Cats. Then there was work at the Limnological Institute and round-Baikal expeditions, which made it possible to better know the water area of ​​the lake. After leaving science for design work, Asya continued to travel along the shores of the lake. Her hobby for speed skating on the ice of Lake Baikal turned out to be really important for her - from that moment it was the beauty of the ice that became an important motive for her work.

“I really took a great interest in photography in 2007, when I was struck by the beauty of the Katun ridge in Altai. Snowy peaks and turquoise lakes, night bonfires and morning mists. It was wonderful! Since then, I began my race for the elusive beauty of the world - sunrises and sunsets, karst rocks of China and Thailand, the crystalline architecture of Hong Kong and the cozy charm of Provence, but Baikal is my love and protagonist of my photos. This is a place where I can always come, leaving a load of urban worries and enjoy its beauty. Traveling along its shores always brings joy, and through photos, I want to share with others, ”says Asya Kostyukovskaya.
