"FotoStrelka" is the first black-and-white photography festival in Russia. This large-scale project aims to become the country’s premier platform for monochrome photography. Its goal is to discover and support talented artists, creating a representative panorama of contemporary Russian photography. This is not just an exhibition, but a research project reflecting the meanings, aesthetics, and energy of our time through the prism of black-and-white art.
The festival goes beyond traditional screenings. Particular attention is paid to creating original immersive spaces where architecture, light, and sound enhance the emotional impact of the works. These specially designed environments immerse the viewer in their atmosphere, creating a profound and personal experience.
The festival lives all year round thanks to our ongoing projects:
The Fotostrelki Laboratory is a year-round creative club and educational platform for those passionate about photography, from beginners to professionals.
PhotoStrelka expeditions are a collaboration of adventure and creative unity, resulting in unique projects at the intersection of various art forms.
The results of this work are recorded in publishing projects — an almanac and catalogues — which become a chronicle of the development of Russian black-and-white photography.
"Fotostrelka" is a point of attraction, a laboratory for the origins and meanings of modern photography.
