In March, the Sholokhov Center will open an exhibition of works by the national artist of Russia, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Konstantinovich Tsereteli “Form and color. Volume Enamel. Small plastic. "
Tsereteli revived and reinterpreted in a modern way the artist’s imagination, which had struck the imagination of the artist, in his young years, the forgotten enamel art. In it, he saw great opportunities - the use for decorative and monumental decoration of public buildings and interiors.
The subject of the artist’s works is diverse and diverse. They often repeat the plots of his many paintings and silk-screen printing, for example, colorful still lifes and floral arrangements with Tsereteli’s favorite flowers - sunflowers (works by Sylvia, Anisia). The plots of the Old Tbilisi series reflect the holidays and everyday life of the Georgian people (Sunday Sunday Bazaar work), and the Sardinia series was created based on the impressions of the master’s trip abroad. The artist managed to improve the technology of work so much that in some of them the interpenetration of colorful pigments practically conveys the trepidation of the painted brushstroke.
The exhibition will feature 40 works by the master, among which is a portrait of the great writer M. A. Sholokhov, made by the artist in 1983. The exposition is complemented by sculptural works of small plastic from the series “Citizens”.
