The 12th Gastronomic Festival FOODSHOW was successfully held in Moscow, which once again became a real event for all lovers of culinary innovations. Every year on the first weekend of winter, this bright holiday of taste and creativity gathers under one roof both experienced chefs and amateur cooks. This year, the festival offered visitors many interesting master classes, tastings and meetings with famous gastronomes.
FOODSHOW is not only an opportunity to get acquainted with the latest trends in the world of gastronomy, but also a chance to discover unique products from local producers and suppliers. The festival has become a platform for exchanging experiences between professionals and amateurs, as well as a place where everyone could find something to their liking - from exquisite delicacies to simple but delicious dishes.
One of the highlights of the festival was the II Food Show Awards Ceremony, the purpose of which is not only to recognize the work of talented authors, but also to create an active community around culinary culture. At the first stage, 30 thousand people took part in the online voting. After that, the vote of the expert jury was taken into account, which included famous specialists: the editor-in-chief of RBC Style Evgeny Tikhonovich, gastro journalists Anna Kuklina and Andrey Zakharin, as well as restaurateurs Leonid Garbar, Denis Ivanov, Igor Bukharov.
The winners included both famous names and new stars. One of the most popular and iconic culinary programs today is "On the Knives" on the "Friday" TV channel. This show deservedly won in the "Legendary Culinary TV Program" nomination. This year, Konstantin Ivlev, the charismatic host of the project, again won the award as the best host of a culinary program, confirming his status as one of the most influential people in Russian cuisine.
On the other hand, the STS TV channel presented a new culinary program, Pro100 Kitchen, which promises to diversify the television culinary landscape. The new project is aimed at attracting a young audience. It offers fresh ideas, dynamic formats and simple dishes that can become real finds for those who have little free time.
Culinary projects continue to develop and gain popularity. Viewers are offered various formats: from author’s books to Internet resources and Telegram channels, whose task is not only to entertain, but also to educate. In this context, it is worth noting Olga and Pavel Syutkin, who received an award for promoting the history of Russian gastronomy, and Yulia Vysotskaya, who has undoubtedly become a symbol of culinary television in Russia.
One of the most anticipated categories was the nomination for the best culinary magazine, where two publications became laureates at once – Lenta Magazine and Gastronom, which testifies to the high level of content and the interest of readers in high-quality gastronomic journalism.
The award also identified leaders among Internet resources. The winner in the nomination "Best Website with Culinary Recipes" was Gastronom.ru, which offers users a variety of original recipes, as well as tips on how to prepare them. The Telegram platform was not left without attention, where the award for "Best Telegram Channel about Food" was received by the Food&Science channel, which combines not only gastronomic trends, but also a scientific approach to food.
In the world of cooking and gastronomy, food bloggers are becoming an increasingly visible part of the information space. Their influence on the reader, who at least occasionally strives for fresh and interesting recipes, is undeniable. In 2018, the Food Show Awards established a new special nomination, "Best Food Blogger", reflecting the growing interest in this area. The winner was Irina Shoturma, whose creative approach to creating content captivated viewers who participated in the online voting. Despite the fact that food blogging in Russia is still in its infancy, this award has become an important step towards recognizing the work of these talented people. Unlike the traditional culinary world, food bloggers bring elements of personal perception and interactivity to their work, which makes their content unique and accessible.
