From January 3 to 7, 2020, the Museum of Moscow will host the festival of street theaters "New Year and Christmas", which will include performances of clowning theaters, jugglers, performers, performances based on well-known children’s fairy tales, art markets and master classes. Also on vacation days, except January 6 and 7, it will be possible to visit the museum’s exhibitions for free.
One of the main participants of the festival, the Tall Brothers Clowning Theater, who won the COMEDIADA - 2019 International Pantomime and Clowning Festival, will show a production based on Andersen’s fairy tale Ole Lukoye.
The performance "The Snowman and His Team" of the theater group "Wizards" will transfer the audience to the North Pole. Actors of the SosFeras Theater will tell the “Fairytale Fairy Tale”, and the Pulsar project will show the performance “How Animals Have Been New Year’s Eve”. Another amazing performance will be the story “Christmas Animals” from the theater “Color Dreams”: the main characters of the production are fantastic animals of incredible size, similar to space aliens.
Between performances, guests will be able to see the alchemical experiments of the Cardboardia project in transforming any mood into New Year’s. Two groups of alchemists will work in the courtyard of the Museum of Moscow: the first uses the latest development of the Kartonii laboratory to search and collect excess creative energy, and the second puts into operation an apparatus for transforming the found energy into a New Year’s mood. Alchemists also use the time-tested musical item “Ambox”, the magical effect of which can be experienced from January 3 to 5 from 12:00 to 16:00.
In the courtyard of the Museum of Moscow during all holidays there will be a fair with non-alcoholic mulled wine, delicacies and Christmas gifts. Daily from 12:00 to 19:00, visitors can ride for free on the fair carousel.
The art market "Spark" on January 3 and 4 will bring together prominent artists, illustrators and ceramists. Market visitors will be able to purchase author’s merch: stickers, New Year’s cards, posters, prints, badges, shopping bags, t-shirts and comics.
Retro format photo studio “Full format” will work at the festival: guests will be able to make a portrait in the image of a city dweller of past centuries or a family photo in vintage costumes. For shooting, developing and printing, ancient technologies will be used, which will be discussed by master photographers.
Also, in the second building of the Provident Warehouses, the Veloshkola of the Museum of Moscow will hold a “Runner’s Run”, where instructors will teach children from one and a half to six years old to ride a runbike - a bicycle without pedals of the Lisaped company.
